Ardara Walking Festival: St. Patrick’s Weekend
Preparation for the Walking Festival is well underway at present. Some excellent walks have been identified by the organizer Kevin Maguire.
The programme is available on the Walking Festival page.
For further information contact: Kevin on 087-6734875.
St Patrick’s Parade
The parade takes place on Friday 18th March from 3.30pm from the Church Grounds.
Many of the usual attending bands are practicing and hopefully will be in tune for the great day.
The priority for everyone now is to get the floats organized. Ardara is famous for its funny and topical floats, so hopefully this year will be no different.
Anyone interested please contact Hugh on 087-6737584.
Visitors from Corrduff
Ardara welcomed a huge influx of visitors from Corduff, Co Monaghan last weekend for a special game between a local Ardara Ladies Underage team and a ladies Underage team from Corduff.
A large crowd attended the game in Pearse Memorial Park in memory of Tommy Feeney, a local lad from Ardara, who made his home in Monaghan but was sadly taken from us due to a farming accident.
Tommy was so well respected in Monaghan and Donegal and that esteem was clear with the attendance at the game and the great crowd in Doherty’s Bar afterwards.
The people of Corduff wish to acknowledge the care and kindness shown to the all at the weekend from everyone in Ardara but especially the Feeney Family.
