The Melting Pot – Is this the End?
Ardara has had one of its greatest weekends from a tourist viewpoint, with every bed in the place taken and many also staying in Glenties. The Melting Pot Committee have worked tirelessly to make this one of the great festivals of all time with people full of praise for the quality of events and in particular, the special attention given to children at this festival. This is a wonderful committee who deserve the help and support of everyone as their tireless efforts are entirely for the benefit of Ardara. The committee certainly get no personal benefit and often do not get the true praise they deserve. Maybe they may reconsider, but it is the responsibility of everyone to support them, and perhaps if another 5 or 6 people were willing to help, it would make all the difference. If you are interested in seeing this festival continue and are willing to support it or help in some way, contact that wonderful committee. Rather than naming all the committee, Martin McGuinness 087-6774069, Claire Molloy 087-2842012, Paula McMullen 086-1765431, are some of the committee that people should contact if they want to see this festival continue. Committee, thank you so much, whatever you may do in the future
Well Done John !
Ras Dun na nGall took place in the Ardara area again this year, and after the An Post Ras the week before, we didn’t expect such a massive number of cyclists back to Ardara again .But again, John Curran from Kentucky has done it again. We had a great weekend of cycling in and around the parish ,creating fun and excitement and making a big contribution to the economy of the area. The keg man in this event runs the operation with a professional approach that is a joy to watch. Thank you John.
More Cyclists Sunday
evening when we thought all the cycling was over, another 35 cyclists arrived .They left Mizen on Friday
and finished in Malin on Monday. They were fundraising for special needs children, and one of the key organisers was Mary Hayes, a daughter of the great Billy Maxwell from Sixmilebridge .Mary and husband Ollie stayed in Ardara Sunday
night and again Monday after completing the race in Malin. The Maxwell family are always welcome in Ardara, as their father adored the place and we all enjoyed his visits home.

The next festival is the Blue Grass Festival, which will be held from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th July,
and this year Pat McGill has some of the finest acts in the world coming to Ardara. For more information, contact Pat on 087-6900714.
