Donegal Person of The Year

Stephen McCahill will be inaugurated as The Donegal Person of the Year 2016 at the Annual Gala Ball on Saturday, 4th March in the Regency Hotel, Drumcondra, Dublin 9.  Tickets are priced at €65.00 each and are available on or from Donegal Association committee members. Any committees or groups wishing to attend can also order tables of 10 or 12. Tickets can be purchased locally from Mary McHugh in Stephen McCahills Office on (074)95 37060 or (087) 6878614. Tickets are booking well at the minute and the closing date for tickets is Wednesday 22nd February.


Oliver Boyle Memorial Card Drive

The annual Oliver Boyle Memorial 25 Card Drive takes place in the Corner House on this Sunday 5th February at 8pm. Proceeds in aid of Shanaghan House


Packie Manus Byrne Memorial Weekend

The Packie Manus Byrne weekend to mark his 100th Birthday, will be held in Ardara on the weekend of 17th / 18th February. It will be a weekend of music and storytelling. More information will follow over the next few weeks.


Artwork / Sale Auction

The annual Artwork / Sale Auction will be held on Friday 24th March in Nancy’s. This is a great event and getting bigger and bigger every year. Anyone wishing to contribute a piece of artwork can contact Claire Molloy on (087) 2842012.


Comedy Play “Widows Paradise”

The comedy play “Widows Paradise” was a great hit last weekend in the GAA Club house for all those who attended the shows. Thanks to all the cast and Director Noel O’Donnell assisted by Marie Therese Haughey who did trojan work over the last few months.


Community Centre Gym

The Community Centre Gym is now opened. It is fully equipped and available to the public for use.


Sets & Ceilis

Sets and Ceili Classes will resume on this Monday and every Monday at 7.30 p.m. Anyone wishing to join is most welcome.


Jiving Classes

Jiving in the Heritage Centre every Thursday night at 8.30 p.m. Beginners welcome.

Activities in the Dolmen Centre

New activities for 2017 are starting in the next few weeks. They include;

Monday– Yoga, Introduction to Computers and Watercolours

Tuesday – Calligraphy, Using an iPad

Wednesday – Creative Writing

Thursday – Walking and Interior Design

Friday – Archaeology

The ongoing activities; Knitting, Gardening, Baby & Toddler Group, and Bumps & Beyond are also back. The usual children’s activities are starting back the week begining 16th January. Those activities are Badminton, Basketball, Guitar, Judo and Foroige Club. Mind your Mental Health workshop and Understanding Self-Harm will take place in February and March.
