Upcoming Wild Atlantic Week Events

Don’t miss the Duck Race on the Owentocker this evening 10th August! Duck race begins at 7pm sharp on the bridge beside Nancy’s bar. Duck lines €4 on sale from 6.30pm. See our Wild Atlantic Week page for details.


Tomorrow Saturday 11th August is Ardara Show Day. One of the biggest events of the year including Cattle, Ponies & Sheep, over 120 classes displaying home produce, photography and painting, arts and crafts, children’s classes and everything from the garden.

Afternoon attractions include a Fun Dog Show, Children’s Sports, Tossing the sheaf, Tug-o-war, Vintage Tractors Display and Birds of Prey.

Live Street Music on the Diamond today at 3pm and 5pm, and tomorrow Saturday 11th from 4pm.

The annual Show Dance is tomorrow night in the Nesbitt Arms Hotel.

Unveiling of Townlands Marker

Saturday, 25 August, 1:30pm – 3:30pm

Top of Loughros Point road, Drimaha, Ardara, Co. Donegal

Unveiling of a stone carved townlands marker of Loughros Point, depicting the sixteen townlands on the peninsula. This beautifully hand carved map shows each townland in both Irish and English.

Carved by local stonemason Kieran Keeney, this map truly is a work of art and will set in stone the townlands of the area forevermore. Parking will be available at The Church of the Holy Family car park with a short walk to the site. Priority parking at the site for the elderly and disabled. An event not to be missed.
