Church of the Holy Family Newsletter – Sun. 27th Mar. 2022

Masses This Coming Week as Follows:

Daily and weekend Masses at the usual times.

Confessions available after the 11.00am Mass on Saturday.

Please note: Summer time begins this weekend. Clocks go forward one hour on Saturday night. Masses on Sunday at summer time.

Anniversary and Remembrance Masses

Monday at 10.00am: Anniversary of Margaret McGill

Friday at 7.30pm: Month’s Mind of Donna Boyle

Saturday at 7.30pm: Month’s Mind of Margaret Hennigan

I think that it is appropriate that we acknowledge the support the parish has received from those who continued to put in their Sunday envelopes week after week. Your continued generosity is very much appreciated. Thank you.

The Dead

We pray for Margaret McGill whose anniversary occurs at this time.

And for Donna Boyle and Margaret Hennigan whose Month’s Mind Masses will be celebrated at the weekend.

Ukraine Collection

Reminder: National collection in aid of the people of Ukraine will be taken up this weekend.

Donations can be put into the St. Vincent de Paul collection boxes after the Masses, or alternatively donations can be put into the box marked Ukraine on the table in the centre of the Church.

Bishops’ Notice

A notice has come to us from the Bishops of the country:

The obligation of attendance at weekend Mass was suspended at the beginning of the covid outbreak two years ago. They feel it is now time to reinstate that obligation in line with the Third Commandment: “Remember to keep Holy the Sabbath Day”. So in view of the fact that Easter, the Feast of the Resurrection, is the core of our faith, it is suggested that the obligation of sharing in the weekend Masses begin this Easter Sunday. That is for those who are able to be present.

Gortnacart National School

Gortnacart National School is holding an Open Evening in the school on Wednesday 30th March from 6.00pm to 8.00pm. Outdoor activities and games for all the family. Everyone is welcome.
