Young Voices 10 Day Challenge: Launching the People’s Transition Ardara Dialogues Today!
YOUNG VOICES Ardara Area (10 day challenge) 20th April-30th April
To kick off “The People’s Transition, Ardara” we are putting out a call to young people in the Ardara area to contribute their creative ideas ahead of wider community engagement, which will take place throughout the month of May 2021.
We want children and teenagers, from 7-17 years old, to tell us visually through art, photography and short videos, how they re-imagine their community as an even more welcoming one for everyone, without exception, and a more resilient place in future. How can their needs and those of their family, friends and nature be best met?
Prizes will be awarded for the most creative and inclusive entries.
About the TASC People’s Transition Project
The village of Ardara and its surrounding area in West Donegal is one of the first to sign up to pilot TASC’s pioneering new People’s Transition project. The pilot project is being supported by AIB.
The People’s Transition views climate action as an enabler of local development, giving people and communities ownership of the transition to a zero carbon society and enhance public support for a Just Transition by tackling inequality and raising standards of living through the delivery of climate solutions.
The project hopes to give more power to people in their own communities to become more inclusive and resilient. It hopes to help communities as they continue to try to meet all the challenges they face now, while making imaginative and equitable plans for the future.
