New Years Day Swim
A crowd of over 200 swimmers braved the elements on a blustery, cold New Years Day on Narin beach. On the ‘Towel holding’ duties were a large number of supporters, who added in no small way to the occasion.
Thanks go to the Organisers, the Civil Defence, the collectors, Annoras and all who helped in any way, to make this once again such a memorable event.
Funds raised will go to two worthy local causes: The Family Resource Counselling Service, which serves the two parishes of Ardara & Glenties, and the Swimming Pool development at the Dolmen Centre, who are pursuing a Planning Application in 2016, to pursue the aim of a Public Pool for the area.
The bucket collection alone raised in the region of €1,700 and it is hoped that sponsored swimmers, and a raffle in Annoras bar will significantly add to this amount in the coming weeks.
Here are a few links from the Ardara Facebook account to give you a flavour of the day!
