Maghera in top 10 beaches

Maghera beach gains international accolade Maghera beach was named in Ireland’s top ten beaches by the renowned ‘Trip Advisor’ web site. The 2016 ‘Travellers Choice Award’ was given as 90% of visitors had rated it as either ‘Excellent’ or ‘Very good’ as a visitor attraction. See a snap shot of the comments below; “Beautiful place. Amazing white sand beach. Clear blue water. You have to visit this place with camera !” “A nice little walk to the beach, but once you get there it is well worth it. The beach and surrounding scenery are beautiful, then theirs the caves !!!!” “Remote beach only a couple of miles outside Ardara, this beach was completely empty and is where the Atlantic Ocean hits Ireland. It is a breathtakingly beautiful spot – a very wide beach with sand dunes and caves to visit – and no people makes it very special!” “The caves are easily reached from the car park. There are local legends of mysterious pipers. Maghera Beach is unspoiled. Great place for a quiet picnic with young families. On your way back to N56 don’t miss the opportunity to view the cascading waters nearby.” Incidentally, the site named the beach as one of ’18 things to do in Ardara’. Sites such as Assaranca, Dorlin Strand, Glengesh were included, and businesses such as Nancy’s, the Ceili House, Kennedy’s and John Molloys were also mentioned. Only 18, I hear you say, well yes, there are a number of things that Trip Advisor has yet to discover e.g. Hill Walking, the Dolmen Centre, Doon Fort, Bonny Glen etc. So any visitors out there who have visited these sites, and want to let others know about it, please feel free to ‘advise’ Trip Advisor of our other ‘Wee Gems’!Check out the Travellers Choice 2016 award here:https://www.tripadvisor.ie/TravelersChoice-Beaches-cTop-g186591#7Header9
