Johnny Doherty Weekend: Will take place on 25th to 27th September. “Cherish the Ladies” Concert will take place in the Nesbitt Arms Hotel on the Saturday night. Tickets are currently on sale for the Concert as it will sell out fairly quickly. Tickets can be purchased at the Hotel for €20.00

GAA Minor Board Family Fun Day: Sunday the 2nd of August, with the day starting at 4pm. Many fun events on offer, with the proceeds going to Down Syndrome and Ardara Childcare. Over 40’s football ‘Challenge’ starting at 6pm.Cake Sale & Auction in aid of St. Conal’s NS: A cake sale will be held after 11am mass in the Dolmen Centre, followed at 2:30pm by a Bazaar in the same venue. This all takes place on Sunday the 2nd of August. All monies raised will go towards the replacement of the windows in the school.
Ardara Wild Atlantic Week: The Ardara Wild Atlantic Festival starts Saturday 1st August to Saturday 8th August. The key events: On Monday 3rd August, a fantastic walk around the Loughross Point Coast led by local Historian Conor White, meeting at the Catholic Church Car Park at 2pm. To contact Conor call 087 7852520. This is an excellent opportunity to see the beautiful coast line and hear about its history.
Dancing at the Crossroads: As part of the Wild Atlantic Week, Clement Gallagher invites you to join his troupe of Ceili Dancing at dancing at the Crossroads on Monday 3rdAugust at 8pm on the Diamond. Come along and join the fun.
Trip to Slieve League: The Trip to Sliabh League on Tuesday 4th August leaves from the Heritage Centre at 11 am and takes in the South West Coastline.   For bookings for the tour contact Stephen on 087 24245920.   A great trip with Narrator on board.
Bart Whelan: Bart Whelan presents an excellent Photographic Exhibition at the Heritage Centre each Summer for many years. Everyone is welcome to go in  and view the many photos on display. As part of the Wild Atlantic Week, Bart will also give a talk on the Photographs in the Heritage Centre at 4pm on Wednesday 5th August.
A Wednesday with a difference: Michael Molloy invites you as part of the Wild Atlantic Week to John Molloy Ltd on the Killybegs Road to see the progression of how the art of weaving is performed with practical and vocal commentary on the sequence of events. Come along anytime during Wednesday.
Afternoon Tea at St Shanaghan House: Friday 7th August from 2pm, you are welcome to come along to St Shanaghans House to see the lovely array of Arts and Crafts made by the residents. Then join everyone for an Afternoon Tea with a difference. Contact Breda 086 1737178
Duck Race: The Loughros Point Rowing Club have a fun evening on Friday 7th August at 7pm at the town bridge as they hold a Duck Race. Great Fun for all the family.
Good Luck: The Community says farewell to Fr. Boyle who leaves the Parish to take up his duties in Aranmore Island. We welcome Fr. Moore to the Parish who is a native of the Downstrands area.
 Death in London: Patrick Joe Gallagher of Common, brother of Thady Big Teague, was buried in Watford on Wednesday 22nd July. Patrick Joe and his family were regular visitors to Ardara. Indeed, his three sons still visit quite often. Patrick Joe was a great Gaelic Footballer in his day and represented Ardara on the County Team.
