National Heritage Week 2017Loughros Heritage Group‘From The Screig to The Meal Chest’Date: Saturday, 26th August, 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.Meet: Crannógbuí N.S., Crannógbuí, Loughros Point, Ardara, Co. Donegal. Description: A guided moderate shoreline placenames trail, followed by refreshments. Experience the breath-taking scenery of the Loughros More Bay while learning about the place names and folklore of the area. Transport will be provided by Loughros Heritage Group to bring participants to the starting point of the walk. Walk on road and beach.Good walking shoes required. Dogs and children must be kept under close supervision, not suitable for pushchairs. Admission & Booking: Free. Donations gratefully accepted for furthering the Loughros Placenames Project. Booking required for transport arrangements. Registration closes at 10.00 a.m. on the morning of the event.Directions to meeting point: From Ardara Town, head west on N56 towards Killybegs. (Loughros Point road is first right turn-off). Turn right and continue for approximately 4 km, where you will see yellow school signage and a white National Heritage Week flag on a flag pole on the left-hand side of the road.
