Duchas Magazine: The Duchas Magazine is now on sale in the local shops. It is a great production with lots of articles and photographs and will make an ideal Christmas present for family living in Ireland and abroad.Santa and the Christmas Tree: This Sunday, 3rd December is a special day in Ardara. At 3.30pm all the children in the Parish are invited to a special Christmas disco in the hotel. At 3.45pm the great man himself Santa will arrive by special mode of transport with loads of toys for the girls and boys. Then at 5.30pm the countdown to the switch on of the Christmas lights with the Glenties Brass Band entertaining on the Diamond along with the local choir singing Carols as we head to 6pm for the big switch on by a special guest, and the Baubles can then be tied to the new Christmas Tree for Christmas 2017.Christmas Baubles: Christmas Baubles are for sale throughout the town at €2.50 each. When we get our Christmas tree lit up on 3rd December, everyone with a bauble is asked to tie it onto the tree to create a warm welcome for Christmas. People can include any note or decoration within the bauble, the choice is by the owner of the Bauble.Kilclooney Country Market: Kilclooney Country Market are holding their annual Christmas Market in the Parish Centre, Ardara on Saturday the 2nd of December from 1 o’clock until 4 o’clock. Why not come along and get your handmade and homemade gifts for Christmas. There will be a lovely hamper to be won on the day as well.Church Coffee Morning: Everything from cakes to jams, pictures to novelty items and much more, will be on sale at the annual St. Conal’s Church coffee morning which takes place Friday, December 8th in Teague’s Bar, Ardara from 10.30am. The event will also include a raffle. The Reverend Robert Wray and church members would like to thank all those who, once again, attended the annual dinner-dance at the Nesbitt Arms Hotel, Ardara, last Friday, November 24th.
