Ardara News 22nd March 2022

St Patrick’s Parade on Friday 18th March

An outstanding parade took place in Ardara this year including floats and bands. We had 26 performers. On a bright sunny day Ardara had returned to the good old days of crowds and laughter in the open air.

Thanks to Dean Laverty for the use of the Church Grounds. We thank all the wonderful people who entered floats. They made a wonderful and hilarious effort. Thanks. All those great bands who turn up each year …thank you. Thanks to all the stewards and Tony the Cop for a job well done. To all the guards who did a great job. Thanks to Celine and Linda for putting the Parade in line and to Sheila Sweeney for a great job as MC. Thanks to the judges Caroline Robins, Frank Galligan and Des Coyle. Thanks so much to Kieran Gallagher who this year and every year at every event in Ardara makes his lorry available always. Thanks to Geraldine Molloy for the electricity. A special thanks to the main man: the chief steward and the man got the floats together: Hugh Boyle.

The “Cup of Tae” Festival: 29th April to 2nd May

The “Cup of Tae” festival returns this year as we honour the world renowned accordion player Dermot Byrne. This year the schools of music will be led on master class by Dermot Byrne, Brid Harper, Michael O’Rourke and Donna Harkin. This year being the first “Cup of Tae” festival without Jimmy and Vincent Campbell and Ernan O’Donell, we have a special tribute to these wonderful men in a Concert in the Beehive.

The 2022 Programme will be available soon on the Cup of Tae Festival page.
