A Fund for Mickey Joe
“A Fund for Mickey Joe – The Long Road” Committee ceased fundraising on the 24th of March, 2018 with the huge finale night in the Limelight, Glenties.We would like to finally thank the following which lead to the fundraising being such a success. On the day of the Mart/Auction in Brockagh we would like to thank the Ardara Committee for all their hard work leading up to the mart/auction and to thank everyone who sponsored and donated livestock, farming items and money and also thank you to everyone who bought on the day.We would like to thank Brockagh Mart Committee and staff for the use of the mart premises and for all their help at the mart/auction. We also thank the Harkin Family and the Auctioneers for their contributions to the day.Would also like to thank Ardara Committee for all their help and support during the campaign.We thank the all the ladies who hosted a table at the Tea Party in Fintown Hall and to everyone who came and supported on the rough winter’s night that was in it.We also want to thank the McGlynn Family and the Railway Bar in Fintown for running their annual Christmas Jumper party for the fund and for running a Pool Competition sponsored by JK Electrical.We would like to thank Sharkey’s Bar in Annagry for having a night of music and craic with all proceeds going to the fund. We would also like to thank Tir Conaill AC, Kevin McMonagle, Denis Sweeney, Maria Gallagher, Ardara PFA Auction, Harkins Bar and the Callaghan Family for donating very generous amounts to the fund by organising various events.We also thank all the ticket sellers who sold tickets and to everyone who sponsored the prizes for the Draw that took place on the finale night and to the huge crowd who attended that night.We would like to thank the Limelight and staff for the use of their premises.A massive thank you to Daniel O’Donnell, Brendan Gavigan and Hard to Beat Band, Shaun McMonagle, Gary Gamble, Patricia Maguire, Grainne Gavigan and Conor O’Donnell for providing the music and entertainment on the night in the Limelight.A total amount of €148,824.05 was raised. This money will be spent renovating Mickey Joe’s home. The money will be paid to the contractor in five instalments which has been agreed by the Committee. An Architect has submitted the plans and will oversee the works.Finally, we would like to wish Mickey Joe all the best in the future and thank each and everyone of you in showing your support for Mickey Joe.
