Slowey Family Barbecue
Every year since the death of Margaret Slowey in 2009, her husband Gerard organised a barbecue in her memory to raise money for cancer care and local charities. Sadly Gerard left us on December 17th last year, but the family Aine, Mairead and Anthony wish to continue the Barbecue in both their memories with proceeds going to Cancer Care West and two local charities. Friends and family are helping out to make this a special event this year.A great selection of music has been organised and things kick off at 5.30pm on Sunday August 20th in the Corner House, and everyone is most welcome. Amongst the entertainers attending will be Hazemize, Red Alert, Scarlet Rose, Jimmy Kavanagh, Brendan and Paddy, Peter Miller, Gerard McTaggart, Josephine Breslin, The Duck Street Band, Black “Magic” Stuff, The Dee Tees, and many others. Also at this event The Donegal Association in Dublin will be in attendance to make a presentation to Grainne McGettigan of Cancer Care West, proceeds from the highly successful Donegal Person of the Year held in Dublin in March. Everyone is very welcome to come along and join in the fun.
