This year’s National Heritage Week, 19th – 26th August, looks set to be an event filled week in the Ardara area. Local heritage groups have come together to produce this poster outlining details of their upcoming events…..
Heritage Week in Ardara Area
Sunday 20th August: Ardara GAP Heritage & History Group, The Invasive nature of Nature. Guided bus tour of the archaeological sites of the Kilclooney area. Includes talks and a display on the Doon Fort ‘Adopt a Monument’ project. Bus tour departs the Dolmen Centre at 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.30pm. Saturday, 26th August: Loughros Heritage Group, ‘From The Screig to The Meal Chest’, 1.30pn – 4.30 pm. A guided moderate shoreline placenames trail along Loughros More Bay, followed by refreshments served in Crannogbui National School. Donations will gratefully be accepted.
