The community of Ardara like all communities in the region has been devastated by the three deaths in the car accident in County Louth. One of those who lost her life was from Ardara. Rachel Battles was a well known member of our community all her young years. Coming from one of Ardara’s oldest and most popular families she was born and raised on the Hillhead. Everyone liked Rachel, she had lots of friends and was so caring and helpful to all her family members. In later years she moved to work in Killybegs and getting married and moving to Bruckless to her beautiful new home. She cared so well for her grandmother Ellen who doted on her and both were truly best friends. The sympathy of the community to her husband and children to her mother Helena, grandmother Ellen, her siblings, all her aunts and uncles and extended family.
