New Irish Dance Classes – New Irish Dance classes will take place at the Heritage Centre starting this Wednesday at 8pm. The famous Irish Dance “The Maggie Pickie” will be taught by Joe.  The classes begin at 8pm and all are welcome.

Jiving Classes – Jiving Classes for beginners and more experienced jivers will take place in the Heritage Centre from 8.30pm on Thursdays.

Ulster Bank Information – Eve Curran, Community Banker for Ulster Bank,will be holding two drop-in clinics at the following locations in Ardara every week from Monday 11th November, from 11-1pm at the Heritage Centre, and Wednesday 13th November, from 11-1pm in St. Shanaghan House, Ardara. She will provide support on the following: one-to-one financial health checks, assisting with general account queries and products and services.  Alternative ways to bank safely including; registering for online banking, fraud and scam awareness/digital safety.  One-to-one appointments can be arranged if you prefer. Eve will be in Ardara on Mondays and Wednesdays and will be supporting local community groups and events, so if you would like her to call in to you during the day or early evening outside of the drop-in sessions, she can be reached on eve.c.curran@ulsterbank.com  or 087-1926529.

Duchas Calling – The deadline for submissions for publishing is the end of October. So if you have a story or a piece of memory or history, please send to layoutduchas@gmail.com or to the Duchas office at Westend House, Ardara.

Christmas Lights – The switching on of the Christmas lights in Ardara will be on Sunday 3rd December.

Glenties Christmas Market – Glenties Christmas market will take place on Sunday 19th November in The Highlands Hotel Glenties from 11am – 6pm. All your Christmas Shopping under one roof.

Warp and Weft Weekend – The Ardara GAP Heritage and History Group wish to thank all those in the community who came and supported ‘The Warp and Weft of Heritage’ weekend, which took place in Ardara from 13th to 15th October. We would like to thank The Nesbitt Arms Hotel who hosted the talks on Saturday and Sunday and the storytelling on Friday night; to all the craftspeople who demonstrated and chatted to our visitors at the Heritage Centre on Saturday afternoon, and to those landowners who allowed us access to monuments on their land from Ardara to Glenties and back. We look forward to seeing you all next year. Ardara GAP Heritage and Hstory Group are pleased to announce that Donegal County Archives touring exhibition; ‘ A Treck Through Time’ will remain  on display in Ardara at the Heritage Centre, until the end of October. This colourful exhibition showcases the county’s historic archive collections and historical themes, which range from the GAA to exotic and eccentric Donegal.

Sympathy – The sympathies of the community this week goes to the Shovlin family Ballykilduff, Kilclooney, on the death of Pat Shovlin whose funeral takes place tomorrow Tuesday 24th October. May he rest in peace.
