The Wild Atlantic Festival from Saturday July 30th to Sunday August 7th, with many great events taking place. There are however, a number of errors in the brochure .The Blessing of the Graves is Sunday August 7 NOT Sunday July 31th, also there is very significant talk on the Doon Fort Experience in the Heritage Centre Friday August 5 at 7.30pm which has been omitted from the brochure. Of course, one of the highlights of the week is the dancing at the crossroads on Monday night, always a great event also the traditional tour of Donegal. On Tuesday the 2nd, we have a tour to Aran Mor Island, this is a very popular tour and seats are limited, so book now. This year the truly wonderful effort by the community in Downstrands to raise funds for a swimming pool has been the brilliant idea of Hands Across the Sands on Monday at midday, don’t miss this special event. There is also a classic barbeque on the beach afterwards with a classic and unique band performing.
