Radio station gains new 100-day licence: Donegal Sounds Ltd, the parent company of OweneaFM, the Ardara based community radio station, has secured its third 100-day licence contract with the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland. The current licence ends on Sunday, November 29th, and the new one will begin on Saturday December 12th.     The station’s frequency remains at 100.8 and the online link is donegalsounds.com Station Manager, Pauric Gallagher, said: “We would like to thank everyone involved with the station,  our sponsors and listeners for making it so successful”.Ardara.ie launched: Ardara.ie is the anchor for all social media on Ardara has been redundant for the past while but good news is we are back on track with a wonderful new Ardara.ie  Much work has been put into getting the new Website up and running by a small dedicated group of people.  The whole community is invited to a Launch Night in the Hotel on Friday 4th December at 7.30pm.  Light refreshments supplied and admission is free and we want the Community to come out to see this wonderful service being switched on as it is of huge interest and importantce to Ardara as a Community in Business, Tourism and Social.Duchas on Sale:  After a busy couple of weeks and a wonderful amount of work by a small committee we are pleased to announce that Duchas the new community magazine will be on sale in all shops in the area of Donegal, Killybegs, Ardara, Glenties and Portnoo from Saturday 6th December in plenty of time to send to loved ones abroad.  Also, it is planned to have the magazine on sale by e-book shortly.Christmas Craft Fayre:  The Christmas Craft Fayre will be held in the Nesbitt Arms Hotel again this year on Saturday 28th November from 11am to 6pm.  To book a table please contact Clare Molloy on 087 2842012 as soon as possible.  Tables are going fast, so book your place.Switching on of Christmas Lights: The Christmas Lights switch on and the Childrens Christmas Party will be on Sunday 6th December.  More details to follow:Christmas Shoebox Appeal: Anyone wishing to take part in this worthwhile charity of filling a shoebox for children in poverty stricken countries can pick up a leaflet with all the information on it in the local shops. This year it is hoped to distribute boxes to children caught up in the current migrant crisis across Europe.  If you feel unable to fill a shoebox we would be grateful for contributions of fillers for boxes or donations towards making up extra boxes. Filled boxes or fillers can be left in The Tavern Portnoo, The Dolmen Centre Portnoo, McCabes Ardara or Post Office in Glenties.
