Duchas Launch in conjunction with Owenea FM

On Friday November 25th this year at 8 pm, we will launch the second edition of Duchas. This is the 2016 Christmas edition and without doubt, this is a truly wonderful edition with a vast array of stories and photos from Killybegs, Glenties, Ardara and surrounding areas and many interviews with famous people. One in particular is the interview with our wonderful Irish captain Seamie Coleman which will be of interest to so many. This year Duchas are joining up with our popular local radio station Owenea FM, who are about to receive their new licence and all will be revealed on the night at this joint launch, and we hope as many as possible will come along. Admission is free and complimentary food will be available from 8 to 9.30 pm, and the great Shaun Mc Monagle will take to the stage. November 25th in the Nesbitt Arms Hotel.

This year a great effort is being made to add to the array of lights we had last year. It is hoped to light up as many of our town poles as we can afford, to add a little extra colour to the season. The cost of the lights are expensive and anyone willing to make a contribution in any way should contact Claire Molloy or Rosaleen McCollum. The christmas lights makes christmas for many, especially our young. This year the lights will be switched on Sunday December 4th at 6pm after we have some carol singing and a variety of music which should start about 5.30.

Like every year, Santa will arrive to the children’s disco in the hotel on Sunday December 4th at 3.30 pm to distribute toys to all his friends who have been so good this year. Santa will then join with all on the diamond for the Christmas lights switch-on. Children come and join Santa in the hotel on Sunday December 4th.
