Country Music Weekend:A special event of music and dance takes place in Ardara this weekend. Friday night there is music in all the local bars and then Robert Mizzell is the big attraction in the Hotel. Music will be provided on both Friday and Saturday night in the Nesbitt Arms Hotel prior to the Big Band on stage. On Saturday afternoon in the Nesbitt Arms Hotel at 3pm, a special workshop for Line Dancing takes place. Visiting Dancers from the South of Ireland and everyone is most welcome. Later at 9pm a big Line Dance takes place in the Heritage Centre. Everyone is most welcome to these classes. Top Country Star Stephen Symth is the attraction at the Nesbitt Arms Hotel. Line Dancing Special:A workshoip for Line Dancers takes place in the Hotel at 3pm on this Saturday. Everyone is most welcome. Also a hoodown takes place in the Heritage Centre on Saturday at 9pm. Everyone most welcome. Niamh is a Star: The commuinity of Ardara and further afield watched with pride as local girl Niamh Breslin performed on the UK Voice on BBC on Saturday night. She was just super and we are all so proud of the way she handled this huge occasion in her life. A true star. Just For Men4 week course commencing Tues 26th Jan 7.30-9pm in the Heritage Centre, Ardara. €40 or €12 per night. This course is like a gym membership for the mind, helping you to adapt a more positive mind-set & discover the advantages of looking after your mental heath. A fun course that includes relaxation & mindfulness techniques. The Power of Positive Thinking for women, 6 week course commencing Mon 25th Jan 7.30-9pm in the Dolmen Centre, Portnoo. €60 or €12 per night. A positive start to your new year, course includes guided relaxations each week. Jiving Classes Return: A new programme of Jiving Classes returns at the Heritage Centre every Thursday night at 8.30pm. Also Waltz and Quick Step will be taught. All are welcome. Improve life in Chernobyl Siobhan Mc Nelis in conjuction with Chernobyl Kilkenny Outreach Group would appreciate if you could help out with much needed items to improve life in Chernobyl. Items required are good quality clothes from newborn to adults and shoes for adults and children, socks and underwear, towels, bedlinen duvets, blankets, nappies, medicated nappy creams, calpol and nurofen meds, baby equipment ie buggies, prams, highchairs, etc, and toiletries. Then we have Mosaics, and Knit & Crochet taking place in Glenties and ‘Just for Men’ a free positive thinking workshop for men, takes place in the Heritage Centre Ardara.Foroige Foroige for 1st years and upwards in the Comp in the Dolmen Centre. There is also Badminton, Basketball, Guitar Lessons and Judo.Baby & Toddler Groups Downstrands Babies & Toddlers Group and Glenties Babies & Toddlers Group, ‘Bumps and Beyond’ breastfeeding group in the Dolmen Centre Sympathy The sympathy of the community this weeks goes to the Cunningahm family, Cloughbois on the death of their Uncle, Bernard Cannon, Crove whos funeral took place in Kilcar last week.
